2024美伴文化巴厘岛游学夏令营来信Newsletter from Bali

今年暑假，美伴营员们在巴厘岛竹子国际营地参加了亲子营和独立营。竹子营绿色环保的生活给他们留下了深刻印象，回国后，他们纷纷用文字记录了这段独特的经历。他们的投稿被选登在巴厘岛竹子营的11月营地通讯中。

Heartwarming and delightful!That's how we felt when we initially received feedback from our Chinese partner.The children participated in a few of our summer camps last year,and it resulted in numerous cherished memories for them!Here are a few excerpts from their feedback.

笔者译：暖心又愉快!这就是我们（巴厘岛竹子营）最初收到中国合作伙伴反馈时的感受。孩子们去年参加了我们的几个夏令营，给他们留下了许多珍贵的回忆!以下是他们反馈的一些节选。

"This summer,I attended Meiban’s independent summer camp in Bali.It was my first time to attend an international camp alone without my parents,and I was both excited and nervous.For the first two days after arriving at the Bali camp,I always missed my parents at night.But with the development of various interesting activities in the camp,I gradually integrated into this group of children from all over the world.We spent nine unforgettable days together learning environmental protection knowledge and practicing environmental protection concepts.

Camp Bali is an international camp built entirely from bamboo.During these five days and five nights,we cannot use mobile phones,iPads,etc.,nor can we surf the internet or watch TV.We must stay away from electronic products and try to experience the most primitive lifestyle in nature.

My friends and I learned about garbage classification and went hiking in local villages to clean up garbage.We interviewed the camp team,collected a lot of materials,and discussed and drew up an environmental protection plan.I also gave a TED speech on behalf of the group.Although the English vocabulary I used was relatively simple,I bravely went on stage to promote the concept of environmental protection to everyone.

In Camp Bali,we not only learned and promoted green concepts,but also practiced them ourselves.We built a bamboo raft ourselves and paddled it along the way.We made our own all-natural soap,organic compost,bamboo mirror frames and solar-powered insects.We use natural plant dyes to dye our own cloth bags.I took these pieces home and use them in my daily life.And I think the pizzas I made in Camp taste the best!"

"My trip to Bali left me with a deep impression.In Green Camp,the most memorable experience I had was the snake and eating rice.Snakes are very interesting animals.When I first saw a snake,I was terrified.The snake hissed.Fortunately,the teacher caught the snake.He told us that none of his snakes were venomous,but there were many venomous snakes in the wild that looked just like his snakes.

Hand-cooked rice is the most freeing meal we have this week.Mom and dad would never say to us:"Brother,brother,don't use your hands,use tableware."This is also the only meal with meat in Green Camp.We ate cold shredded chicken,vegetarian satay,watermelon,rice...I enjoyed this meal.It makes me feel the freedom and ancient custom of eating with my hands."
